Welcome.

Hey, welcome to Eleanor's Bookshelf. I'm Eleanor, Ellie for short, and I love reading. As a student, I know what it's like to write book reports and need a list of characters (I can never find their last names when it comes time to write about them!), or can't find a good book, or maybe you just don't wanna waste your time on book that you don't know is good or not. Life is short - why waste it by reading bad books?

Updates and New Features!

I admit...I'm a perfectionist. So I'm always thinking of new things to update my webpage (ok fine, it's a blog). Anyway, As I think of things I will post them here. :)

Tuesday, February 23:
Apparently Tuesday is the lucky day....this is the 4th Tuesday update in a row! Haha, ok. So news: I've added several new book reviews and updated the writing under my writing so go check 'em out!

Tuesday, February 16:
Attempting to find time to update while maintaining school. Tis a hard thing to do. But, because I felt like this site was collecting dust, I thought I would add the most recent english assignment that i'm proud of for brutal attack. it is now available under my writing --> dialogue story. Also, daily phrases is being discontinued. I'll leave it up because I enjoy them, and I hope you do too but it's too much effort for me to find quotes and post them everyday. :) sorry.

Tuesday, January 26:
Updating...or trying too! I'm working on bringing more book reviews in and less fun-stuff and cool buttons. Just because I'm in the mood...I dare you to search up Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, it is my favorite and I have it memorized. It's beautiful. :)

Tuesday, December 8:
Right now I'm working on all the annoying, tedious little things that make this website (blog) work. So when you click on something saying "next in series" be appreciative. It took me like forever to add and link all the books in the series' with the next and previous book considering how slow this computer is and all the cruddy connection etc. I'm working on some stuff with the menu (notice how when you scroll over books another menu pops up!) so that's been a wee bit frustrating. Also, I've added the "series" and "authors" categories so you can "shop" through my list of authors. The only series I have up are the Books of Ember. Just FYI, the way that works is you click the series, then click the image of the book you want to view. So far I have only read book 1, but there are in fact 4. I have set up all four pages with the other three saying "coming soon!" like its something really climactic and special :) Also, I am going to start posting more under "my writing" - please do not take advantage of the fact that I am an un-published teen sharing her un-copywrited works. I do intend to copywrite them someday though so beware. So in a nut shell: things will be moving slowly this week and next week, be thankful for every single little link and whatever, and enjoy but don't misuse my writing. I have winter break after next week so the site will get a lot of TLC. Thanks for your patience, all, what, 6 followers I have now? Oh special.

Sunday, December 6:
Hey guys! I'm back! The site was down for awhile but now I'm back and with winter break coming up, I'm sure I'll have time to fix and update things. Thanks for your patience! Oh and BIG news!! I uploaded my most recent book (the one I, myself, am writing. Go here now to read it!)

Thursday, September 24:

Yesterday the New Moon trailer was added to the Fun Stuff page - go check it out! I'm still debating what else to put there, but hopefully some fun stuff (hence the page name...) :D

Monday, September 21:

I'm not going to tell but you never know when it might slip that novembers theme is family. whoops! there it went. oh dear.

Monday, September 21:
I added THREE new pages today! "My Writing", "What I'm Reading", and "Book of the Month". I also brought back the forums page - I fixed the problem! I started reading 'Gathering Blue" by Lois Lowry today and my next book is going to be "Peaches" by Jodi Lynn Anderson. Thanks!

Monday, September 21:

Anyway, Daily Phrases got  its own page again and the poll will now go on the first page (scroll down!). Also, I finished reading "Backwater" last night (by Joan Bauer) and I'm please to say it was really really good! Hopefully it will be up later today.

I moved the Phrase of the Day board to its own page, Fun Stuff! I might have other things there eventually, like polls. But I'm no tech-wiz so it may take awhile. Thanks!

Saturday, September 19:
The Phrase of the Day Board was put up today! It's going to be hard to find 31 quotes on a single subject 12 times a year, but I'll try!
